Quantitative or Qualitative Factors responsible for Effectiveness of an ad

Advertisements are not as qualitative as one thinks. Creativity of a campaign is directly proportional to its effectiveness. So, suppose the  objective of your campaign is to grab market share and if it does not fulfill its quantitative purpose, it did not justify itself on the creativity parameter. Similarly, if the purpose of such a campaign is to raise the awareness level of a brand, even then there are quantitative tools to measure the outcome of such campaign. So an ad campaign is as good as itfulfi ls its core purpose. A campaign has be effective first and creative next. This is exactly why the world's best ad agencies are associated with world's best brands or vice-versa.

HONDA BUYS SIEL

The long-term partnership between Honda Motor Corporation (HMC) and Sriram Industrial Enterprises Ltd (SIEL) has come to an end. Honda will buyout SIEL’s stake in its Indian subsidiary for Rs.180 crore, thus ending 16 years of partnership, which Usha International Ltd (UIL), Honda Siel Cars India Ltd and Honda Motor Company shared to develop the Honda Siel Cars India Ltd’s brand. As per the agreement, Honda Motor Co will buy out all of the 18 million shares, which UIL held in the joint venture. UIL, which had 3.16% stake in HSCI, had shown an interest in quitting from the joint venture in order to better focus and strategically invest and expand its own core business. Honda Siel Cars India will now be a 100% subsidiary of Honda Motors. The process of changing the company’s name and other formalities will take a few more months to come about. The decision came after much prolonged dilly-dallying between the two partners over the stake valuation of UIL. Honda, which commenced sales operations in India with flagship sedan City in 1998, has seen market share dip over the decade due to increased competition from global players and has been having a tough time in India. It will be interesting to see how as a single owner now it gets its act together.

Fruit and nut Muffin Cook Book Recipe

Fruit and Nut Muffin
Ingredients
  • 1 cup whole-wheat pastry flour
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • ¾ cup dried fruit (black currants, raisins, chopped nuts)
  • 2 eggs, large
  • 1¼ cups low-fat (1%) buttermilk
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons canola oil (or any neutral flavored oil)
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

Method
  • Place the rack in the top third of the oven and preheat the oven to 2000C. Line muffin tins with paper liners.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and orange zest. Add black currantsetal and toss gently to coat the dried fruit in flour. This will help keep them suspended in the batter versus falling to the bottom.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, lightly beat the eggs, then whisk in the buttermilk, brown sugar, oil, orange juice, and vanilla. Don’t be concerned if the mixture looks curdled or lumpy.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until most of the flour is incorporated. The mixture can be slightly lumpy; don’t overmix. Divide the batter among the 18 prepared muffin cups.
  • Bake 12 to 14 minutes, or until the muffins are golden brown around the edges.

Bhujangasana Yoga Asanas Benefits (Yoga postures)

Bhujangasana Yoga postures

Bhujangasana actually means the Snake Pose or Cobra Pose. This pose is famous for strengthening the abdominal muscles and back muscles. It is the seventh asana in the famous Suryanamaskara sequence.

Lay on the floor with face down; make the palms flat on the floor, next to the chest. Note that your elbows are close to your body. Make sure that the heels and toes are together. For beginners, it is good to place the nose or chin on the floor. Once you are comfortable, you have to place the forehead on the floor. Inhale slowly and stretch the entire body, and lift the head up and expand the chest forward. You have to roll upwards by using the back, neck and head. Then look upwards at 45 degrees. The elbows should be positioned right next to your body. The abdomen has to press down on the ground. Hold this position up to 15 or 30 seconds. While releasing, breathe out and slowly return to the original position.

Benefits of Yoga Bhujangasana
  • Will strengthen abdomen muscles
  • Very useful for diabetic patients
  • Relieves from stress and helps maintain youthfulness
  • Will improve the condition of heart
